Understand photo location metadata
Location metadata can include latitude, longitude and sometimes altitude, but it is not present in every photo. Inspect the exact file you plan to share instead of relying on assumptions about the camera or app that produced it.

A camera or phone may record GPS in EXIF when location services and camera settings allow it. Later edits, screenshots, exports or messaging workflows may preserve, transform or remove the field. A copy saved from another service may therefore differ from the original. File Privacy reports supported GPS values when its JPEG or PNG EXIF parser recognizes them.
A careful browser-local workflow

Work with the final copy, because metadata can change at each export or transfer.

Check the location category and technical view for supported GPS findings.

If a recognized location field is unnecessary, create a cleaned copy and review the re-scan.

Inspect the visible photograph for signs, landmarks, maps, documents or reflections that can reveal location without metadata.
What this version supports
Supported JPEG EXIF GPS structures can yield latitude, longitude and altitude. Supported PNG eXIf data can yield latitude and longitude. The current cleaner removes the supported containing EXIF metadata container together with other implemented metadata containers; it does not use a map service or send coordinates to a server.
Limits to keep in mind
Location can be represented in unsupported or proprietary metadata, descriptive text, filenames or visible content. A no-finding result means no supported location field was detected by this version, not that the photograph cannot reveal a place. Cleaning also cannot control what a recipient, platform or backup system does with other copies.
Inspection and cleanup run in your browser. Selected file bytes are not uploaded to FrAIFlow servers. The result describes only the supported structures this release can observe.
