Understand and check JPEG metadata
JPEG image data can be accompanied by several metadata segments. File Privacy recognizes supported EXIF/TIFF fields and identifies supported XMP APP1, Photoshop/IPTC APP13 and JPEG comment segments in JPEG/JPG files.

EXIF may describe capture time, GPS, device and lens details, software, ownership text, serial-related information or maker notes. XMP can carry creator, editing or publishing information. IPTC/Photoshop data is often used in editorial workflows, while JPEG comments can contain manually entered text. The actual contents depend on the camera, editor and export path.
A careful browser-local workflow

Use the JPEG or JPG file that will actually leave your device, not an earlier source copy.

Inspect the categorized findings and technical values rather than assuming every JPEG has the same metadata.

If supported findings are unwanted, create a cleaned copy in the browser.

Review the automatic re-scan and download the copy with a new filename while leaving the original untouched.
What this version supports
The current JPEG parser walks supported metadata segments before the compressed image scan data. It reads implemented EXIF fields and flags XMP APP1, IPTC/Photoshop APP13 and comment segments. The cleaner omits those supported containers when assembling the new JPEG, without decoding and recompressing the visible image data.
Limits to keep in mind
The checker is not a complete JPEG forensic analyzer. It may not decode every XMP or IPTC field individually, every maker-note format, malformed segment or proprietary extension. Removing supported containers does not change visible text, faces, documents or other private details in the pixels. Always review both the result and the image itself.
Inspection and cleanup run in your browser. Selected file bytes are not uploaded to FrAIFlow servers. The result describes only the supported structures this release can observe.
