Remove supported image metadata without uploading the file

File Privacy reads supported JPEG/JPG and PNG metadata in the browser tab and creates the cleaned copy locally. Selected file bytes are not uploaded to FrAIFlow servers by the product workflow.

Why this information can matter

Local processing changes the trust boundary. The browser reads the file through a user-selected file input, runs the parser and cleaner in page JavaScript, creates a temporary object URL for the result, and offers that copy for download. The site security policy also blocks application network connections with connect-src set to none.

A careful browser-local workflow

    Open the checker and select a supported JPEG, JPG or PNG file from your device.

    Review the findings generated in the browser without sending the selected file to a processing API.

    Create a cleaned copy only when supported metadata is present and you want it removed.

    Wait for the local re-scan, download the copy, and close the tab when finished. The original file remains where it was.

What this version supports

The cleaner removes the specific JPEG or PNG metadata containers implemented by the current release. JPEG support covers recognized EXIF/XMP APP1, Photoshop/IPTC APP13 and comment segments. PNG support covers eXIf, tEXt, zTXt, iTXt and tIME chunks. The resulting copy is checked again using the same supported parser.

Limits to keep in mind

Local processing does not make every file anonymous or prove that every possible metadata field was removed. Unsupported, proprietary or malformed content may not be recognized, and visible pixels can still disclose private information. The browser and operating system still handle the file locally, so use a trusted, updated browser and review the result before sharing.
